DA councillor sues accusers

THE Nelson Mandela Bay DA councillor who was accused of stock theft last year is suing two emerging farmers from KwaNobuhle for R100000 each for defamation of character.
DA Ward 45 (KwaNobuhle) proportional representative councillor Xolisile Klaas was accused by Mzukisi Msweli, 64, and Zolile Mama, 71, of stealing their livestock last year, despite Boy Phakathi, 38, coming forward and saying he had sold the cattle to Klaas.
The two previously claimed to have gone to Klaas's farm and identified five of their marked cattle that had gone missing at his kraal and two slaughtered ones at his home.
