Pay your 'papgeld', says Zille

BEING blacklisted will soon be the fate of fathers who refuse to pay their children's maintenance.

DA leader Helen Zille celebrated this national development at the weekend and shouted it out during a visit to Gelvandale in Port Elizabeth where she led the DA Women's Network (Dawn) child maintenance march on Saturday, as a part of Women's Day celebrations.

The National Credit Regulator (NCR) recently adopted new draft guidelines for the credit industry aimed at cracking down on child maintenance defaulters.

Zille said the DA had raised the issue in parliament and worked closely with various government departments and NCR to get parents to take responsibility.
