Gamtoos residents still without power

GAMTOOS River Valley residents have been in the dark for days after a transformer blew on Sunday.

And residents have been left further in the lurch as they do not know who to report the power outage to. Residents thought Kouga Municipality oversaw their electricity but its spokeswoman Laura-Leigh Randall said: "The municipality does not supply electricity to the Gamtoos Valley area. Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality does."

She said the Kouga Municipality supplied electricity to Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, St Francis Bay, Cape St Francis and Oyster Bay.

"Eskom supplies electricity to Patensie, Hankey and Loerie. Nelson Mandela Bay Metro supplies electricity to Thornhill and Gamtoos." - Tremaine van Aardt
