Dunce cap for SA in schools survey

WHILE the Basic Education Department rejects a report that ranks South Africa's education among the worst in the world, an Eastern Cape academic believes there is still a lot of work to be done before the country can put its hand up as a class leader.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) released its Global Information Technology Report earlier this week.

It looks at education, wherein the overall quality of South Africa's is ranked at 146 out of 148 countries.
