More help for children with disabilities

A NELSON Mandela Bay daycare centre for children with physical and intellectual disabilities has received more donations to enable it to keep its doors open.

Last week, the APD Day Care Centre received R50000 and R10000 from petroleum giant Engen and Hella Automotive SA respectively.

The R60000 will give the Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities, which runs the centre, additional time to raise more funds.

Last month, staff at the centre and parents of children there were shocked to find out the centre faced imminent closure because its coffers were running dry. - Zandile Mbabela
