Moosagie's assets to be seized
By TMG Editor - 21 March 2014
THE National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) is continuing in its plans to confiscate the assets of missing Malabar millionaire Amier Moosagie, despite his disappearance more than a year ago.
The Port Elizabeth High Court yesterday granted the NDPP a final restraint order compelling the surrender of Moosagie's property in terms of Section 26 of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.
The NDPP is now in the process of applying for a confiscation order which will be heard on May 16. If this is granted it will confiscate his property to the value of R2.4-million in relation to his tax fraud conviction. - Lee-Anne Butler
