Little boy shot in face makes full recovery

A YOUNG Port Elizabeth boy is "back to his happy self" just 11 days after being shot in the face.

Neilon Peters, 5, was shot on March 1 while inside his Jenniker Street, Arcadia, home. He underwent surgery the next day to remove the bullet, which had lodged in his neck next to his spine.

Yesterday, the energetic boy was back home playing with his friends in the street as if nothing had happened.

"Ek is darem hier [At least I'm here]," Neilon said when asked about the shooting. "It was very sore when I woke up in hospital but it's OK now, only when I smile then it hurts a little. But I'm fine. I'm playing outside again." -
