BAYVIEW Primary celebrates it 50th year since the gates of the school were opened to pupils.

With the school's motto being "Reik na die Sterre" (Reach for the Stars), it is definitely not planning on falling short of the stars as far as celebrating its half-century is concerned!

Bayview Primary deputy principal, Judy Conald, said: "Everyone is enthusiastic about ensuring that the celebrations are a great success. We have a calendar jam-packed with events that involve everyone who has contributed to the growth of our school over the years."

Former pupils are involved with the event planning and are providing their expertise and resources to assist Bayview with its exciting plans.

On April 28, there will be a thanksgiving event which will include a "devotional service, competitions for the pupils to participate in, as well as addresses from guest speakers to remind attendees of the founding of the school and the importance of upholding Bayview's motto".

Other events which will be hosted by the school, are a Winter Ball on June 3, a bingo event on August 3 and an Anniversary Ball on September 6.
