Many winners at record baby expo

The Herald First Choice Kids & Baby Expo ended on a high note with more than 6 000 visitors – the highest number yet – attending the event. Six lucky winners walked away with prizes valued at more than R77 000. There were plenty of winners throughout the three-day event, with prizes being drawn every hour from generous exhibitors at the seventh expo held at the Boardwalk Exhibition Level. Two finalists were drawn each day, winning prizes and standing a chance of winning the main family prize valued at more than R43 000. Overall winner, Dennis Nockfar, 83, who has nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, won a range of Stokke baby furniture and transport equipment. He also received shopping vouchers from popular baby boutique Nesting Place, as well as prize vouchers from Monkeybum Clothing.

“I have been visiting the Kids & Baby Expo since its inception in 2010 and I am thrilled to finally win the fabulous family competition prizes,” he said. Nockfar said he entered competitions regularly and his prizes would be shared by his younger grandchildren. The remaining five finalists were Ceri Hill of Lorraine, Bianca Blignaut of Korsten, Zainag Cassim of Malabar, Elsa Jansen of Jeffreys Bay and Zelda Armstrong of Uitenhage. Visitors were not the only winners – exhibitors were also in line for recognition at The Herald First Choice Kids & Baby Expo last weekend. Therific Naturals took first prize with their strong graphics and interactive style stand. Biolink Concentration Centre were second with their eye-catching, vibrant green stand and visitor-friendly approach, and in third place were Indikidual, with their trendy bedroom-styled stand which showcased their boys’ clothing perfectly.
