Gang shooting trial postponed again

For the second day in a row, the trial involving alleged gang members accused of gunning down a rival gang member and a 12-year-old girl in May was postponed yesterday.

Five men, including murder accused Elgershwin Goliath, 27, appeared in the Port Elizabeth Regional Court yesterday on various charges.

They include attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm. A sixth suspect was not in court due to alleged food poisoning. The case was postponed to November 9. The suspects are alleged to have been behind the shooting of Donovan “Staal” Berry, 47, earlier this year.

Soon after the shooting of Berry, Aliya Tee, 12, was shot dead in her family home in Bethelsdorp.
