Hindu temple council ‘completely blindsided’ by Algoa FM ‘monstrosity’ going up next door

The governing council of the historic Hindu temple in the Baakens Valley has asked the metro for an urgent meeting about the multi-storey “monstrosity” being built next door in Port Elizabeth’s Upper Valley Road.

In a letter to Nelson Mandela Bay municipality acting city manager Noxolo Nqwazi, the Shri Siva Subramaniar Aulayam governing council says the new Algoa FM building is going up without its permission, that it violates their religious privacy and disrespects the temple’s heritage status...
