Jeffreys Bay surfer eyes success

Jeffreys Bay surfer Dillen Hendricks will put all his focus on defending his Nelson Mandela Bay Surf Pro title as he takes to the waters at The Pipe at Pollok Beach this weekend.
The 18-year-old wave rider heads into the opening event of the City Surf Series looking to reclaim his junior title.
Participating in both the junior and men's qualifying series 1000 events, Hendricks is hoping for some good swells in the competition, which will feature top local and international surfers.
Hendricks said his aim was to just go out and have a good day while trying to catch the best waves in the hope that it would lead him to his second JQS title in three years.
“In the JQS, I would like to defend my title but I know it won’t be as easy as saying it.
“Being the defending champion, there will always be a bit of nerves before any competition but I will try to turn them into positive energy.
