Comedy trio for Roof Garden Bar show

What happens when a bishop, a banker and a media mogul walk into a bar

A Bay comedy trio who dub themselves a bishop, a banker and a media mogul are planning to offer hilarious stand-up next week at the Roof Garden Bar in town.
The three Eastern Cape comedians are TD Jokes, nicknamed the Bishop of Humour, Soso the Banker and media producer Julie Coetzee, who will be presenting The Home Invasion Comedy Show on Tuesday December 4.
Having all recently performed across the country, the comics are coming home to Port Elizabeth to perform at the Winston Ntshona (formerly Chapel) Street venue, with DJ SuliSoul providing house music on the decks.
Entrepreneur and media personality Julie Coetzee only picked up the stand-up comedy mic earlier in 2018. She will use her slot to focus on a blend of modern-day subjects from Tinder to white privilege, and hopes to give a relatable look at 21st-century living, loving and its struggles.
Sonwabile Sigcau, affectionally known as Soso the Banker, is a Mthatha-born comedian and MC. The winner of the Vodacom Comedy Campus Tour 2007 in Cape Town, Soso has since returned to his hometown to grow and promote stand-up comedy with recurring shows.
He has performed with national and international acts like Loyiso Gola, Riaad Moosa, Chris Forrest, Stephen Grant, Skhumba and Trevor Noah.
Thembinkosi Dike, aka TD Jokes, is best known for his Bishop of Comedy shows. He looks at the lighter side of his upbringing and the South African landscape. After sold-out one-man shows in other Eastern Cape cities, he is ready to close out the year on a home stage.
DJ SuliSoul has a television and radio presenting background and brings an element of drama and engagement to her sets.
Labelles Food will serve summer meals and the Roof Garden Bar will sell drinks from 6pm, with the show starting at 8pm.
Tickets R100, on sale at Pick n Pay and Webtickets.co.za Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, but groups of 10 or more are invited to book a table via e-mail: info@juliecoetzee.com.
