Benefit concert for Brian Finch

Musicians rally round to raise funds for the "Living Legend's" cancer treatment

A benefit concert for well-known South African singer and songwriter Brian Finch will be held at East London’s Legends Showcase on Friday, June 15.
Finch, known by his peers and fans as the “living legend”, performed recently in East London on his way to headline the Legends of the Fen stage at Splashy Fen Festival.
Before he could end the South African leg of his tour and embark on a tour to Namibia, he was diagnosed with lymphoma, a curable cancer.
The good news is that it has not spread elsewhere and doctors are positive that chemo will be successful.
However, Finch will be out of action for several months and so musicians from all corners of South Africa and Namibia are organising benefit concerts to keep their hero afloat until he is ready to take to the stage again.
East London musicians George Cooras and Bryan Daniel, and bands Sobeit Union and Shirley & the Shotguns, will be playing at Friday’s concert at 7.30pm, and there will be raffle tickets on sale for various prizes.
Finch’s compilation CD and box set will be available. Food will be on sale and there is a cash bar.
Tickets are on sale at Lee Gold Music in Est for R80.
