Table tennis league stars show mettle

THE Nelson Mandela Bay Table Tennis leagues ended on a high note this week. In the premier league, Aryan C easily defeated Madibaz A 9-2. Dean Bailey (Aryan) did well to win all of his matches. Aryan B showed fine form to defeat Livvie Alumni A 11-0. Shahied Abrahams, Ridhaa Hendricks and Shahied Mamojee (all Aryan) all played well. In the first league, Madibaz B eased past Despatch to an 8-3 victory, becoming the first league champions for 2016. Philo Moodley (Madibaz) played well to win all his games. In a tight game, Aryan D narrowly defeated Madibaz D 6-5. Oluseyi Adebowale (Madibaz) did well to win all his matches. Livvie Alumni B easily defeated Madibaz C 8-3. Robert Morris (Livvie Alumni) and Chris Rockman (Livvie Alumni) were the standout players.

  • The SA Table Tennis Board will host the World Junior Championships in Cape Town from November 30 to December 7.
The championship brings together the top 19 countries in the U18 boys’ and girls’ categories.
