Four Bay sides battle for silverware

WHILE most teams will be taking a break this weekend, four Nelson Mandela Bay sides will battle it out in the EP Grand Challenge as the quest for silverware reaches its seventh week tomorrow.

In-form Gap Despatch will lock horns with their Rosedale neighbours Gardens in Despatch.

The home side go into the clash high in confidence after successive victories over Spring Rose, Caltex Crusaders and PE SAPS.

Gardens, on the other hand, will be as dangerous as wounded lions after consecutive losses against the struggling Harlequins and favourites NMMU.

The last time the Eastern Cape Super 12 champions tasted victory was early this month. Now they will be aiming to get back to their winning ways against Despatch.

It will be a game of contrasting styles as Despatch rely on their big forwards to do the hard work, while Gardens like to swing the ball wide to bring their pacy wings into play.

PE SAPS will welcome Rose at Kemsley Park in another potential thriller.

Both sides are capable to putting any team to the sword, but neither has been consistent in this campaign.

The home side will need to bounce back from their loss against Despatch last weekend, while Rose will be looking to make it two in a row after edging Park in their last outing.

Both sides have always tested each other to the limit and tomorrow's clash should not be any different, with the teams eyeing the top positions on the log.

The kick-off is at 3.30pm in both games. - Mkhululi Ndamase
