Nubs' lead cut to just three points

IT is down to the wire in the Zafa Premier soccer league after two of the three contenders dropped vital points.

Nubs had their lead cut down to three points when they were held to a 2-2 draw by Dynamos on Saturday, while Young Romans squandered the opportunity of joining Nubs at the top of the log when they suffered a shock 3-1 defeat at the hands of Seven United.

Young Professionals, who are tied with Romans in second place, must now be the favourites to win the championship. In addition to having a match in hand, they have a far superior goal difference to Nubs, especially after thrashing Golden Brothers 9-1.

With just the final series of matches to be played, Santos and Brothers cannot avoid relegation.
