NMMU Madibaz's dreams came crashing down as they slid to a 4-1 defeat against Tuks in the Varsity Football Challenge final in Pretoria last night.
There was, however, some good news for NMMU when defender Niven Kops was named the winner of the Samsung Super Strike Best Goal of the Tournament award.
NMMU were unbeaten before last night's final.
They created the first real chance, but Tuks worked their way back into the match, with the Pretoria midfielders coming to the fore.
The home side took the lead in the 20th minute through a header by Lawrence Ntswane and Claudio Barreiro doubled the score before the break.
