Sykes back to boost Kings against Boland

THE EP Kings were given a big boost ahead of their "must win" Absa Currie Cup First Division match against Boland on Friday when giant lock Steven Sykes was declared fit to take his place in the team after being sidelined by a shoulder injury.

Sykes, who was one of the standout players in the Southern Kings Super Rugby team, will add extra muscle to the Kings pack for what is expected to be a highly physical showdown in Wellington.

The bad news for the Kings was that fiery lock Samora Fihlani will be sidelined for months with a knee injury he sustained against the SWD Eagles on Friday.

The Kings have made six changes to the starting lineup that beat the Eagles 15-9 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday.
