Every point vital in Kings' bid for Currie Cup play-offs

A LOGJAM at the top of the league table means every point will be vital for the EP Kings as they attempt to qualify for the Absa Currie Cup First Division play-offs at the end of the season.

While the runaway log-leading Pumas are assured of making the semifinals, the fate of the Kings, Eagles, Leopards and Cavaliers will be decided over the next three weeks.

After 11 matches the Pumas have accumulated 52 points, which has given them a healthy lead over the Kings (37), Eagles (35), Leopards (32) and Cavaliers (29).

"We have three games left before we hit the play-offs. At the end of the day we are good enough to be there, but we cannot have a repeat performance of what happened against the Eagles in our last game," Kings coach David Maidza said.
