Kings victorious, but Maidza far from impressed

EP KINGS lacked cohesion and composure despite beating the SWD Eagles 15-9, coach David Maidza said of the Absa Currie Cup First Division match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday night.

"Mentally we were not at the races and we were not structured in our play," Maidza said after a victory which lifted his team to second spot on the league standings.

"Our satisfaction comes from playing well each week and we do not want dips like we had on Friday.

"Our performance did not produce much confidence and we will have to go back to the drawing board."

On a night when both teams failed to take the game by the scruff of the neck, the Kings had to rely on the trusty boot of fullback Scott van Breda, who kicked five penalties to earn his team the win

"There was no cohesion or composure. What I would like to see is making sure the team gets together no matter who is in the side or who is not in the side," Maidza said.
