Lifeline for small-scale fishermen must be carefully managed
Small-scale fisheries have great potential for contributing towards poverty alleviation while also providing food security for SA’s marginalised communities.
In this sense the fisheries department’s announcement at the weekend that fishing rights would be allocated to small-scale fishing co-operatives in the Eastern Cape is good news. ..
