Zindzi Mandela’s tweets are a battle cry and should be defended

In the past few days Zindzi Mandela had South Africans divided over her tweets on the land question. Political parties such as the Democratic Alliance (DA) and AfriForum were calling for her head. While parties such as the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Black First Land First (BLF) united in her defence. Even among political analysts, some argue that actions ought to be instituted against her while others argue not.

It is important to note that when one is engaged in a policy formulation process, the consideration of material conditions on the ground is of great significance. Policies are problem solving in nature. At all given times they ought to reflect the aspirations of a people. The same goes with the constitution of a given country...
