Congrats on appointment

CONGRATULATIONS, comrade Cedric Frolick! I was truly elated when I read the news pertaining to the appointment of MP Frolick as president of the Global Legislators Organisation (Globe).

He is the first Globe president from outside of the G8 and is also the house chairman of the South African National Assembly.

As the head of Globe, he is joined by a new senior leadership team composed of legislators from every continent, with his presidency is supported by vice-presidents elected from each region of the world.

Truly, a celebration of our democracy and a high attainment by Frolick, undoubtedly exposing the possibilities for any dedicated and committed individual living in South Africa.

Not only a highly respected colleague, Frolick is also a respected South African MP and, together with his elected team, is part of an initiative which brings together parliamentarians from 86 countries who are dedicated to advancing laws on climate change.

Globe is an international organisation committed to developing and overseeing the implementation of laws in pursuit of sustainable development. Globe's objective is to support ambitious political leadership on issues of climate and energy security, land use change and ecosystems.

Internationally, Globe is focused on progressive leadership from G20 leaders and the leaders of the major emerging economies as well as formal negotiations within the United Nations.

Coming from Port Elizabeth and growing up in the notorious northern areas, a place known for drug-related issues and gangsterism, and to be in parliament and to represent the country on such a platform, this former David Livingstone Senior Secondary School pupil is set to share the world stage with global leaders. I salute you colleague and friend, you are a true inspiration.
