Protesting residents accused of cutting down electricity poles

Residents from an informal settlement opposite the St Albans Prison, plunged into darkness when illegal connections caused a transformer to catch fire on Sunday, have allegedly started to cut down electricity poles in protest.

And they have threatened to continue should their power not be restored...
