Child bride ‘was obviously not 17’
The stepdaughter of a 61-year-old man who allegedly paid the equivalent of 11 cows to marry a 13-year-old girl said she thought the child was 17 when she first met her but could tell she was younger.
The woman, who is not being named to protect the identity of the child, said when she arrived in Port Elizabeth from Cape Town in December 2016 she had gone to the house of her stepfather and met the young girl for the first time...
