Two security guards were shot dead in Clairwood, south of Durban, on Friday night.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said the guards were gunned down in Flower Road at 6.15pm.

"They were also robbed of their service pistols. It's still being investigated how many suspects were involved and also the circumstances surrounding the incident," she said.
