Kidnapping accused’s bail bid postponed

The woman who allegedly kidnapped a three-year-old boy at the beachfront last week had her formal bail application postponed again in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Megan Diedericks, 25, a bush dweller from Walmer Township, told the court she intended to plead not guilty to kidnapping, but after it emerged that she did not have a fixed address the case was postponed to Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the state told the court it was still waiting for profiles, records of previous convictions, pending cases and possible warrants of arrest.
The case was postponed to January 16 to allow Diedericks to “point out” a fixed address before her bail application could proceed.
Diedericks denies that she intended to kidnap the boy.
