Woman, 41, goes missing

A concerned Port Elizabeth mother and the police are seeking the community’s assistance in tracing a 41-year-old woman who went missing more than a week ago.
Noxolo Prudence Maxham, 41, has been missing since leaving her mother’s home in Jakavula Street, Kwazakhele, to go for a walk on December 20.
According to her mother, Joyce Sijaku, Maxham arrived in the city from Cape Town, where she works, on November 19, but suddenly went missing just more than a month later.
“She suffers from anxiety and is unfamiliar with the area,” Sijaku said.
“On December 20, at about 8.45am, she told me she was going for a walk. She left my house in Jakavula Street and never returned.
“People here do not know her, which is making it more difficult to find her or find anyone who has seen her.”
She said her search had included hospitals and even funeral homes in the Bay.
She reported her daughter missing to the police at Kwazakhele the day she disappeared.
She was last seen dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a peach-coloured T-shirt.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said a missing person docket had been opened.
Anyone who can assist in locating Maxham or who may have any other information can contact the police, or Sijaku on 083-893-9420.
