Police hunt for three escaped men

Police have appealed to residents to be on the lookout for three men who have escaped police custody.
The three are wanted in two separate cases.
Police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said that in the one case, two men were nabbed in Addo Road, Markman Township, on October 14 2016 after allegedly hijacking a vehicle. They appeared in court three days later and were released on bail.
But in June 2017, Naidu said, the accused, Unathi Mdlungu, 33, of Ngondono Street, Joe Slovo, and Asanda Nkosinkulu, 32, of Tuswe Street, Zwide, failed to appear in court.
Warrants have been issued for their arrest.
In another matter, police are searching for Luwando Macozoma, 32, who had been arrested in a case of aggravated robbery.
Macozoma and an accomplice were allegedly found in possession of a hijacked car on September 11 2017, police say.
A warrant of arrest was issued after he failed to appear in court on March 19.
Authorities say Macozoma’s last known addresses were Westhill Flats, Western Road, Central, and C1 Parken, Willow Drive, Forest Hill.
“Anyone who can assist police in tracing these suspects is asked to contact Detective Lieutenant-Colonel Willie Mayi on 082-697-5914,” Naidu said.
“These suspects are considered dangerous and must not be approached – instead contact the nearest police station or Lt-Col Mayi.”
