Health MEC to pay costs in records battle
Eastern Cape health MEC Helen Sauls-August must pay the costs of an application that resulted in her being summoned to court to explain why the sheriff found it impossible to serve papers on her office.
This was ordered by the Port Elizabeth High Court on Tuesday.
It follows 18 months of lawyer’s letters and applications on behalf of Bulelwa Mbozana, 41, in an effort to get hold of her hospital records.
Mbozana is suing the department after a “foreign object” was left inside her abdomen after she had a caesarean section.
