Get to watch the Giants game for just R1 – no catch

It will be Black Friday reloaded as the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants sell tickets to Friday’s clash against the Paarl Rocks for a mere R1.
The first 500 fans to buy their unreserved tickets – on Thursday only – will qualify for the ridiculously reduced rate to watch the crucial Mzansi Super League fixture at St George’s Park. The offer is available only at the ground’s ticket office.
The challenge is that working spectators will have to take Friday afternoon off as the game starts at 2pm.
There will also be added incentive to get a leave slip in as R20,000 is there to be won for the first spectator to take a clean, one-handed catch.
A further R2,000 is up for grabs for the winner of the “Dress to impress and craft your funkiest hard hat” competition.
“In our ongoing efforts to provide exciting promotions for our fans, we have decided, for Friday’s game, to charge R1 each for the first 500 unreserved tickets to be sold on Thursday only,” Giants commercial manager Christine Moss said. “We encourage fans to bring their ‘gees’ and support our powerhouse team like only Bay fans can.”
Spectators who bought a ticket for Tuesday’s rained-out match between the NMB Giants and the Cape Town Blitz can exchange their tickets for another MSL home match at St George’s Park of their choice at the ticket office.
Fans who miss out on the special can buy tickets at R50 for adults and R25 for scholars. Party chalet tickets cost R80.
Friday’s match will be the Giants’ third home fixture.
They beat the highly rated Durban Heat in the first encounter and then had the rainout and shared the four points with the Blitz on Tuesday.
At the halfway stage of their pool matches, the Giants occupy second place on the log, 14 points behind the Cape Town Blitz, who are on 20 but have played one extra match.
The potentially good news for the Giants is that the experienced Heino Kuhn may be back, having recovered from a concussion sustained from being hit on the head by a Dale Steyn thunderbolt near the start of the competition.
The Giants have another home game, against the Jozi Heat, on Sunday.
