Tekkie Town ‘naughty corner’ hearing postponed
A hearing into the debacle over a Tekkie Town employee, who was humiliated by being forced to stand in a Baywest Mall storefront window with a demeaning sign pinned to her shirt as punishment, has been postponed to Tuesday.
The hearing – initially scheduled for Friday last week – follows an internal investigation into the incident involving saleswoman Maxime Lee, 18, in which she was placed in the “naughty corner” for laughing too loudly, on the instruction of her supervisor, Thozama Spielman.
Tekkie Town CEO Riaan van Rooyen said: “I can confirm the hearing was postponed and is now scheduled for Tuesday.”
Spielman remains suspended from her duties.
