Port Elizabeth liquor store robbed

The Tops at SPAR in Kragga Kamma Road in Kamma Park was robbed at about 9:15am on Wednesday.
According to police, three men posing as customers entered the store  pretending to look at liquor on the shelves.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said the men then pulled out firearms.
“One of the suspects then walked to the security guard and ushered him into the store at gunpoint. At the same time, the other two suspects held the cashier at gunpoint and threatened to shoot unless the safe was opened,” he said.
“The safe was opened and an undisclosed amount of money stolen. Several boxes of cigarettes that were inside the store had also been stolen.”
A white getaway car was spotted outside near the store.
“The suspects then jumped into a getaway car that was parked nearby. No shots were fired and no one was injured,” Labans said.
“After the men fled, the alarm was raised.”
A case of business robbery is being investigated.
