Officials monitoring Laetitia Bam
The Eastern Cape department of health was monitoring the situation at the Laetitia Bam Clinic on Monday night, as the facility were expected to return to a 24-hour schedule.
The clinic has been closed after-hours for more than a week, following staff security concerns.
Staff members refused to work later than 4pm after security guards were attacked and robbed earlier this month in the latest in a string of robberies and violent incidents at the facility.
The department said security upgrades at the clinic were in progress.
On Friday, nurses received panic buttons linked to an armed security service.
The department said the issuing of warnings to nurses for not working nightshift was an internal matter.
