Body dumped along Old Uitenhage Road

The body of an unknown man was found dumped in the bushes along Old Uitenhage Road yesterday afternoon (17/08/17) after a witness saw a man stop a car on the side of the road shortly after 4:30pm and dump the body.

Police spokeswoman Colonel Priscilla Naidu said that the man who found the body was walking home when he spotted a car parked on the side of the road in the distance.

“He saw the driver get out of the car, go to the boot and throw something on the side of the road. The man then drove off,” she said. “As the witness neared the location where the car was spotted, he saw a man lying on the pavement.”

Naidu said the police were alerted a short while later.

“The man is unknown and had no form of identification on him. The man had a gunshot wound to the head,” she added.

The deceased was wearing a grey shirt and black pants – with no shoes. Naidu said that the anyone with information can contact detective Captain Kobus Williams on 082 825 2357
