Bus strike looming

South African commuters are scrambling to find alternative transport ahead of a planned nationwide bus drivers’ strike over pay that is scheduled to start at midnight on Wednesday.
The impact of the strike could be widely felt in different provinces‚ across operators such as Rea Vaya‚ Putco‚ Golden Arrow and MyCiTi.
Wage negotiations have deadlocked with unions reportedly seeking a 12% pay increase.
Bus operators plan to institute a lock-out from midnight on Wednesday.
