Unidentified body found on bed in flat

The body of an unidentified man believed to have died days ago was found in a New Brighton flat on Sunday.

Police spokesman Constable Mncedi Mbombo said the house was owned by Alfred Booi, whose son, Vukile, was using the flat on his property.

“[Alfred] last saw his son on Saturday evening and does not know where his son is,” Mbombo said.

When Alfred went to look for his son on Sunday, the body was on the bed.

The identity of the dead man is not clear, nor why he was inside the flat.

An inquest docket has been opened.
