Two pedestrians killed along R67 near Port Alfred

Two pedestrians were killed when a private ambulance crashed into them on the R67 near Port Alfred on Wednesday morning. Police spokeswoman Captain Mali Govender said the accident happened at about 6.45am. “A private ambulance service driver was on his way to Port Alfred when he knocked into three pedestrians. Two of the victims, male and a female, both adults, died at the scene whilst the third was transported to hospital in a critical condition. The driver sustained minor injuries,” Govender said. The details of the accident are unclear. A case of double culpable homicide is being investigated.
