'Dumb and dumber' robber nabbed

EITHER too gung-ho or just plain short-sighted, an alleged would-be robber came a cropper when he tried to carry out a cash-in-transit heist opposite a Port Elizabeth police station yesterday.

The man was arrested after the ambitious but bungled crime at the Ziyabuya Complex across the road from the KwaDwesi police station at about 12.30pm.

Ironically, it was undercover police who just happened to be driving by who apprehended the suspect. - Gareth Wilson
