Bay toilet row set to go international

This is because, they claim, the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has failed to clean the facilities in the DA ward in Despatch for three years. Now, the area's councillor, Francois Greyling, wants to approach the United Nations International Commission on Human Rights over sanitation for residents from Kriekie Valley, Mooi Valley and Manshashe Village. The facilities, at one stage, were used by scores of families. But now the filth, stench, an outbreak of infections and an insect plague are forcing them to use the bush instead. - Estelle Ellis
