Cops in car chase drama

A MOTHERWELL woman yesterday told of her ordeal at the hands of an alleged armed robber who claimed to be "working" to support his children and had to ask her how to start her car before he sped off in it.

"He told me to calm down – he was not going to hurt me because he was working for his children just like I was working for my kids," Lulama Ndwandwa said.

The 56-year-old health worker, of NU7,was still reeling from shock when recounting how the suspect had confronted her in her home.

She said it was about 7.30am and she was leaving for work when she went back inside to change, leaving both her garage and front doors open.

"I heard someone inside the house but I thought it was one of my neighbours. As I was going out, I met the suspect and he was there in my kitchen. He pushed me inside the house, showing me a gun," a shaken Ndwandwa said .
