Work offer proves to be a scam

MORE than 100 desperate job seekers who thought they were going for interviews at Lilitha Nursing College in Port Elizabeth yesterday were disappointed when they learnt they had been conned.

To secure the interview, they had to pay between R1500 and R3000 to a woman calling herself Noxolo Harmans. They all heard about her by word of mouth.

The job seekers – some from as far afield as Johannesburg – said they had been sent SMSes telling them to go to the college yesterday. By 7am, more than 100 had already gathered at the Park Drive, Central, campus but nobody there knew anything about the interviews or the woman who had sent them there. - Yoliswa Sobuwa
