One 'gangster' killed, one hurt

A SUSPECTED gangster was killed and another wounded in two separate gang-related shootings in Port Elizabeth on Sunday night.

This comes after a relatively quiet period in the city's northern areas in the past month following a spate of violence since the start of the year in which at least 20 people have been killed or injured.

In the latest incident, Eldine "Malinga" Campher, 24, was chased by a gunman and shot four times in the upper body outside his Kama Street, Schauderville, home at about 9pm on Sunday, police spokesman Warrant Officer Alvin Labans said. Campher died at the scene. - Gareth Wilson
