Metro acts on Pikoli report

AFTER 14 months of sitting on the contentious Pikoli report, the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is to rope in the police corruption-busting unit to help recoup the squandered millions which were meant to improve the city's public transport.

Months of pressure from the government have paid off as councillors on Friday gave the nod to a process plan which will kick off disciplinary proceedings against some officials and criminal investigations against others implicated in the report.

The recommendations contained in the plan have to be completed in the next two months. - Nwabisa Makunga and Mkhululi Ndamase
