Workshop on activism

LEGAL minds from across the country will converge on Grahamstown this weekend for a workshop on strengthening student activism across Eastern Cape universities.

The keynote speaker for the workshop, Constitutional Court Justice Johan Froneman, will talk at the opening tomorrow night at Rhodes University.

Froneman will be joined by Unemployed People's Movement activist Ayanda Kota, as well as activists from the Section27 NGO, Mluleki Marongo and Tim Hodgson.

Students from the Eastern Cape's four universities are due to attend the workshop, namely Rhodes University, the University of Fort Hare, Walter Sisulu University and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. – Michelle Solomon
