Psychologist to evaluate rape victim, 6

A SIX-year-old girl, who was brutally raped in November, will be sent for psychological evaluation before the start of her alleged attacker's trial in the Port Elizabeth High Court.

The psychological evaluation order was granted yesterday by the court. The evaluation will determine whether the child will be able to testify in the case.

The girl's 23-year-old uncle is accused of the crime. It is alleged he spent the night at a house in Motherwell where the girl was staying. While she was asleep in a room with other children, the uncle allegedly raped her. It is alleged he throttled her to keep her quiet.

This is the second such brutal rape case in the Port Elizabeth High Court this year.  Lee-Anne Butler
