COPE bosses meet to talk over strategy

IT is back to the drawing board for COPE, which was dealt a massive blow in the elections, as leaders face the mammoth task of rebuilding the party's image amid talk of further rifts within the Eastern Cape leadership ranks.

COPE's Nelson Mandela Bay regional and branch bosses held a meeting yesterday to discuss their plan of action going forward, with particular focus on the 2016 local government elections.

COPE was the biggest casualty in the elections, only managing to scrape together 0.67% of the national vote and 1.2% provincially, from 7.4% and 13.67% respectively in the 2009 elections. - Rochelle de Kock
