Minister blames corruption on past

SPORTS Minister Fikile Mbalula has defended the ANC government against claims of corruption, saying it had inherited a very corrupt public service system 20 years ago.

Mbalula was addressing hundreds of Walter Sisulu University students at the Nelson Mandela Drive Campus in Mthatha. Meanwhile, UDM president Bantu Holomisa was addressing a rally at the Rotary Stadium.

Mbalula warned students that democracy was not something that would fall from the sky but something that came with challenges and responsibilities. - Sikho Ntshobane
