Jail warning over voting booth selfies

TAKING selfies inside voting booths is illegal and could lead to prison time, the Electoral Commission says.

Commission spokeswoman Kate Bapela said the popularity of selfies – people talking photographs of themselves with a cellphone – along with a number of social media campaigns promoting voting selfies, had increased the risk of undermining the secrecy of the vote. - Thulani Gqirana
